Claudio joined Applebaum, Commisso in 1978.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Economics from York University, and has his CGA and CMA designations. Claudio has extensive experience working with corporate real-estate clients performing taxation and auditing. His expertise include working with corporate partnerships and auditing small, privately held businesses, as well as working in personal trust and corporate tax preparation.

Dana Lee, B.Comm., C.A.

Dana obtained her Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto in 1996 and earned her CPA designation from the state of Delaware in 1998.  She joined Applebaum, Commisso in the same year and obtained her CA designation in 2002.  Her areas of specialization include auditing and accounting as well as personal, corporate and U.S. taxation. Dana has volunteered at CA tax clinics since 2005. She continues to attend various in-depth tax and accounting courses.  Dana is active in the Taiwanese community and is currently a consultant and auditor for the Taiwan Entrepreneurs Society of Taipei/Toronto.

Derek Applebaum, B.Comm, C.A.

Derek graduated in 2001 from the Degroote School of Business at McMaster University. He earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a focus on accounting and economics.  Upon graduation Derek worked at KPMG LLP for five years where he gained experience working in their financial institutions and real-estate division, as well as their private enterprise department.  Derek obtained his C.A. designation in 2005 and has been a valued member of Applebaum, Commisso LLP ever since.

Norman Applebaum

Norman joined the Applebaum, Commisso team in 1999.  His in-depth knowledge of Corporate and Personal Tax has grown over the past ten years. Norman specializes in small business growth and accounting software implementation. 

Ashish Patel, B.Comm., M.Comm.

Ashish obtained his India C.A. in 2000 after studying at MS University of Baroda in India.  He is currently enrolled in level four CGA program working toward the designation.  Ashish has a broad range of accounting experience from corporate and personal income tax to audits.  His clients include both large and small firms and come from a variety of different industries including construction, real-estate, and manufacturing.

Jeremy Weeks

Jeremy has been an independent bookkeeper at Applebaum, Commisso since 2000. He has more than 20 years experience in public accounting, preparing corporate financial statements and both corporate and personal tax returns. His client experience ranges from various sectors including manufacturing, investment companies, retail, real estate and not-for-profit.

Mustafa earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Mumbai in 1978. He also studied at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India where he earned his Indian C.A. designation in 1985.  He has a wealth of knowledge and experience working in auditing and has been a part of the Applebaum, Commisso team since 2008.

Rita obtained her Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Toronto and joined Applebaum,Commisso in 2008.  She has over three years experience working as an accountant.  Rita recently successfully obtained her CA designation while working at Applebaum, Commisso LLP.

Jane Liu

Having worked in a number of sectors including Non-Profit and IT, Jane brings a wealth of experience to her job as an accountant at Applebaum, Commisso.  Jane earned her Master degree in Finance from the South-Western University of Finance and Economics in China and is currently working towards her CGA designation. Since joining the firm in 2009, Jane has been handling a variety of accounting functions such as bookkeeping, payroll and tax filings.

Marla has been an administrative assistant at Applebaum, Commisso since 2000.  She is also a Commissioner of Oaths.  Marla is a long time volunteer with the Airedale Terrier Rescue and Adoption organization.
